“Tough outing in Texas leads to higher motivation in Florida”
Following a weekend of hard-earned lessons at Circuit of the Americas (COTA), brothers Jackson and Ethan Tovo are set to continue their Toyota GR Cup North America campaign this weekend at the historic Sebring International Raceway. Representing Nitro Motorsports, the Tovo Twins are focused on turning recent challenges into progress as they take on round three of the season.
At the Circuit of the Americas, the Tovos showed flashes of promise but were met with adversity on the demanding 20-turn circuit. Jackson battled an undiagnosed mechanical issue until the final on track session of the weekend, while Ethan pushed through illness to climb the field. Both drivers are using the experience to fuel their motivation heading into Sebring.
“Sebring is a track with so much character and history, and we’re excited for the challenge,” explained Jackson Tovo. “We’ve identified areas to improve, and with the mechanical issue behind us, I’m ready to push for stronger results.”
Ethan, now back to full health after battling strep throat throughout the race weekend, shares his brother’s determination. “I feel recharged and ready. Every race is a step forward for us, and Sebring gives us a great opportunity to show the progress we’ve made.”
Known for its bumpy surface and challenging layout, Sebring will test teams and drivers’ precision and skill. With their eyes set on improvement and consistency, Jackson and Ethan are poised to make strides this weekend as they continue their growth journey in the GR Cup paddock.
The on-track action will kick off on Thursday with a pair of test sessions before official practice on Friday. Saturday will feature qualifying in the morning with round five in the afternoon, while Sunday will be a carbon copy of Saturday with qualifying and round six.
