Missig Gears Up for Iowa After Breakthrough Mid‑Ohio Drive

After a P7 finish at Mid-Ohio, Jordan Missig is bringing momentum and confidence into the high-speed intensity of Iowa Speedway — a .875-mile short oval that promises close racing, heavy tire degradation, and no margin for error.

“We started the weekend in P18 during Practice 1, so to come away with a P7 finish feels like a win for us,” said Missig. “We knew the car was in a good window but just needed to put things together, and we did that in Practice 2 and Qualifying. The race pace was strong, but it’s hard to find passing opportunities at Mid‑Ohio. Big thanks to the Abel Motorsport crew for giving me a great car and making it a successful weekend.”

The performance at Mid‑Ohio — a track known for its technical layout and limited overtaking zones — marked an important turning point in Missig’s 2025 INDY NXT campaign. He now sits 9th in the overall championship standings with 152 points, continuing to build consistency and pace as the season hits its second half.

This weekend, the series heads to Iowa Speedway, the only short oval on the calendar and one of the most physically demanding circuits for drivers. With asymmetric corners and rapid-fire laps, Iowa rewards precision, confidence, and tire management — all attributes that align with Jordan’s skillset, shaped by his background in karting and Radical racing.

The Iowa event is also a crucial opportunity for Jordan and the team to capitalize on race-day traffic, convert qualifying gains into results, and stay in the thick of the championship battle. See more details from Jordan’s website.
