Missig Battles Through Laguna: A Weekend of Resilience

Aug 1, 2025 | Current, Racing News

The scenic hills of Monterey served up more than just elevation changes at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca — they dealt INDY NXT driver Jordan Missig a weekend of unpredictable challenges.

“A bit of a mixed bag of emotions is what I would call it for Laguna Seca,” Missig reflected. “Good momentum would come our way, then bad luck would hit us. To be able to salvage a P10 after what happened in Race 1 and part of Race 2, we’ll take that into the final three races of the season. But I know we can do better — and some good finishes are on the horizon.”

After a couple on-track incidents left the No. 48 Abel Motorsports entry battling through the field, Missig showcased determination and control, ultimately clawing his way back into the Top 10 by the end of the doubleheader weekend.

The result places him 10th in the overall championship standings, as he and the team look ahead to regroup and reset before the next round.Up next? Portland International Raceway — a high-speed, technical circuit where Missig’s road course experience could pay dividends. With three races left on the calendar, the fight for a strong season finish is still very much alive.
