The 2025 INDY NXT season delivered one of its wildest rounds yet at Iowa Speedway, and Jordan Missig rose to the moment.
Between flat-out restarts, daring three-wide passes, and even a tornado warning, the .875-mile short oval served up a race weekend unlike any other — and Missig, driving the No. 48 Abel Motorsports machine, showed once again why he’s one of the series’ most tenacious competitors.
“Iowa was a wild one, filled with 3-wide passes, flat-out full throttle, and even a tornado,” said Missig. “Once again I found myself having to play catch up after falling behind early in Practice and we took a big swing setup-wise for the race — and it paid off. The car was fun to drive, and we were able to make passes and drive up the field a little bit. Hoping for a little better weekend from the 48 camp going into Laguna Seca.”
After falling behind in early running, Missig and the Abel crew made bold overnight changes to the car. That gamble unlocked a more aggressive, raceable package that allowed Jordan to charge forward in traffic — showcasing clean execution and quick adaptability.
With each round, Jordan continues to gain traction in the championship standings while developing momentum that’s difficult to quantify by results alone. His pace, confidence, and overtaking ability have steadily improved across vastly different circuits — from Mid-Ohio to Iowa — proving the No. 48 team can respond under pressure.
Missig heads to Laguna Seca next, where he’ll look to convert the lessons from Iowa into a more complete weekend — with qualifying execution, clean starts, and strong race pace all in focus.
