Since its inception, Lexus has grown into much more than just a luxury brand. With dynamic products, innovative technologies and track-tested engineering, the brand synonymous with amazing experiences is more experiential and performance-obsessed than ever before.
Lexus introduced its first premium sport sedan in 2008—the IS F. Groundbreaking for the brand, the IS F was Lexus’ fastest production model at the time and became the first of four exclusive, high-performance models developed over the last 10 years: the IS F, LFA, GS F and RC F. This group was dubbed the Lexus “F Performance Line.”
The Lexus F Performance Line is originally named after Fuji Speedway, the infamous race track where Lexus tests all prototypes prior to production. Fuji Speedway challenges even the most experienced race car drivers with its 12 demanding corners—the curves of which inspired the design of the F emblem.
This lineup is a symbol of powerful Lexus performance and the F philosophy has been infused into the brand over the past decade. Its influence can be seen in the 2018 LC 500, one of the most powerful Lexus models to date, and in almost every Lexus model through optional F SPORT performance enhancements. And in the ultimate expression of F performance and passion, Lexus is gearing up to race its second season in one of the most competitive sports car series in North America: The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
And this is just the beginning. The F philosophy drives Lexus to the forefront of innovation and automotive prowess, and it’ll continue to do so as we look to the F Performance Line’s 10th anniversary and beyond.
