The Ignite Challenge Series introduces the popular spec Ignite program to a regional level of racing. The series travels to five existing Midwest area Ignite tracks: Gateway Kartplex, Kart Circuit Autobahn, Mid-State Kart Club, TNT Kartways and Motorsports Club of Cincinnati. The series will serve as the next level of competition for local Ignite competitors, allowing them to race against new competition, all while using the same Ignite package they race every weekend.
On Saturday June 4th, Kart Circuit Autobahn hosted Round 2 of the Margay Ignite Challenge and the top three classes were totally dominated by Kart Circuit Autobahn members.
In Ignite Rookie, Easton Kubinski piloted his #38 Margay K2 to a clean sweep of the class with Pole, Wins in both Race 1 and Race 2 as well as fast laps of both races.
Ignite Junior saw a similar trend with Samuel Bowman aboard his #33 Margay K3 Sweep the class with Pole, Wins in both Race 1 and Race 2 as well as fast laps of both races. Gavin Gleitsman finished 2nd both days as challenged for the lead several times.
Ignite Senior was the largest and arguably the most competitive class of the weekend having 30 Entries and 8 current or former club members entered. First Year Senior Matthew Miller showed the way in qualifying by setting a fast time of 40.947. Matthew also led most of the first race but ended up finishing second by .114 of a second. Race 2 was a different story as he led wire to wire for the top step on the podium.
Congratulations to all the Club Members for rising to the occasion and putting on a great show.
