Brandon Schwarz added to his podium streak this weekend at Road America, picking up a 1st place finish on Saturday and 2nd on Sunday in the FRP Atlantic Open class—extending his points lead in the championship.
Racing in an open class brings its own set of challenges. Unlike spec racing, the Atlantic field includes a mix of platforms, each with different strengths. Brandon’s Ligier JS-F3 continues to deliver strong results, but the lighter Swift 01 – the car driven by J.R. Smart, James French, and Bruce Hamilton – kept the pressure high throughout the weekend.
Behind the scenes, the HAVOC Motorsport team, led by John Harkenrider and crew chief Titas Urlakis, had their hands full. Managing seven cars brought unexpected setbacks and overnight repairs, but the team dug deep to keep Brandon’s car performing at its best. Their relentless focus and passion paid off in the form of two more podium finishes and a commanding lead in the series standings.
This weekend’s featured sponsor was Quinn Design Build, the team responsible for the forthcoming 7,000-square-foot expansion of Signature Production Group’s St. Charles facility. Big thanks to them for their support on and off the track!
As always, hats off to Formula Race Promotions for putting on a fantastic weekend of racing.
Onward to the next round at Watkins Glen!
