We are thrilled to share exciting updates about Connor Willis who has been making an impression in the world of motorsports. Connor’s racing journey started just four years ago at the Autobahn Country Club, and since then, he has been blazing a trail of success from karting to cars! Connor is very vocal about his appreciation to the Autobahn Country Club, Kart Circuit Autobahn, Autobahn’s Driver Academy, all the staff and even our members for igniting his passion and developing this young driver into a talented and promising athlete. It is truly a community effort with fantastic camaraderie.
Connor’s 2023 season kicked off spectacularly with Connor achieving the first SM win, proving that his dedication and hard work are paying off; on and off the track as well as his off season. He continues to strive for excellence and recently embarked on an intensive one-month world-class driver development program in the UK, where he underwent advanced physical, mental, and technical training. The iZone Performance program, located at the renowned Silverstone Circuit, designed exclusively for race car drivers, boasts a prestigious lineage of current and former F1 athletes, ensuring Connor receives the very best in preparation for the elite levels of professional racing.
In addition, Connor’s time in the UK also allowed him to impressively test his skills in an F1600 with Ammonite Motorsport at the legendary Brands Hatch Circuit, further enhancing and validating his abilities while also gaining invaluable experience.
This past weekend, Connor took his F1600 development to new heights by joining Team Pelfrey at New Jersey Motorsports Park for a thrilling three-race event under Formula Race Promotions. In a field of 20+ talented drivers, Connor showcased his skill and determination, securing impressive finishes of P5, P7, and P8 despite facing common racing adversities that test every driver’s mettle. This marked Connor’s spectacular debut in the F1600 category, solidifying his belief in its significance as a phenomenal and foundational component in his ascent up the open-wheel ladder system. The event not only allowed Connor to take his development to new heights but also served as a testament to his exceptional potential and passion for the sport.
Fueled by an unyielding determination to achieve greatness in motorsports, Connor leaves no corner unexplored in his pursuit of excellence. He actively seeks every chance to gain seat time, track experience, and simulator practice, all while benefiting from advanced coaching and driver development programs; including the Autobahn Driver Academy. In addition, Connor is developing his sales and marketing skills to attract sponsors, which will be crucial in the next phase of his racing endeavors.
