After months of construction, weather challenges, and watching the new North Track configuration take shape, we’re getting close to the moment everyone has been waiting for: the first laps.
We have several special opportunities planned to introduce members to the new section, beginning with Press Day on Wednesday, October 7. All members are invited to attend and be part of the day as we introduce the new configuration and celebrate another major step in Drive to 2035.
Then, on Friday, October 16, we’ll take over North Pit Lane for a party celebrating the new track. During the evening, we’ll announce the winner of a special raffle to determine the first member to drive the new configuration at speed. Members will also have the opportunity to ride through the new section with our instructors, getting their perspective and tips on how to approach the new corners. We’ll follow that with a track walk, slowing things down and getting into the details of the layout, lines, braking points, and what makes each of the new corners unique.
The big day comes Sunday, October 18. We’ll start the morning by giving our raffle winner the honor of being the first member on track at speed. After that first official lap, the new section will open to the membership, and everyone will finally have the chance to experience what we’ve been building.
It has been a long road to get here, and we appreciate the patience and enthusiasm members have shown throughout the project. Seeing the track take shape has been exciting. Driving it will be even better.
As with all construction projects, these dates remain tentative and are dependent on weather and continued construction progress.
