It was an exciting weekend of racing as Brandon Schwarz made his first appearance at the legendary Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, competing in races 3 and 4 of the Formula Race Promotions (FRP) series.
Saturday’s race featured some of the best wheel-to-wheel action of the season so far. After starting P3, Brandon worked his way to the front, trading positions with Athan Sterling in a hard-fought contest for the lead. The two drivers stayed close throughout, with Brandon ultimately finishing just three-tenths of a second behind — an edge-of-your-seat finish that showcased skill, pace, and racecraft from both competitors.
Sunday’s race brought more tight competition, aided by warmer weather and a dry track. Brandon made quick work of the field to secure a P2 finish, while Athan delivered a standout drive, maintaining the lead with consistently strong lap times.
The weekend was a showcase of great racing, mutual respect, and the kind of spirited competition that brings out the best in every driver. Athan Sterling continues to prove he’s one to watch — a hard charger with real talent and a bright future. Sharing the track with drivers like Athan is both an honor and a challenge, and we’re looking forward to more close battles as the season continues.
Official results note: Due to a technical disqualification, Brandon was awarded P1 for both races. While he’ll take the points, it’s not the way anyone wants to win. Full respect goes to Athan and his team for their outstanding performance all weekend.
Brandon thanks Havoc Motorsport, John Harkenrider, and crew chief Titus Urlakis for their expert prep and support, and Autobahn Country Club, his home track and the community that makes this journey possible.
