The Tovo Twins look for progress in the second GR Cup round of 2025. After a strong start to the season in Sonoma, Jackson and Ethan Tovo are set to continue their 2025 Toyota GR Cup campaigns with Nitro Motorsports at Circuit of the Americas (COTA) over the April 25-27 weekend. This marks the second round of the seven-round championship season, and the Tovos look to carry the momentum from rounds one and two into Austin, Texas.
At the season opener, Jackson Tovo delivered an impressive performance, securing a pair of top-ten finishes at Sonoma Raceway. His brother, Ethan Tovo, also showed strong pace, finishing inside the top-15 in both races, despite having to overcome a drive-through penalty, setting a solid foundation to build upon for the rest of the 2025 season.
“I’m feeling confident heading into COTA,” explained Jackson Tovo. “We had a great start at Sonoma, and I’m ready to keep that momentum going. COTA is such an iconic track, and I’m looking forward to pushing for even better results this weekend. We won there in the WRL series in December of 2024 with Nitro Motorsports and would love to repeat that performance this weekend.”
“I learned a lot in our first weekend at Sonoma,” added Ethan Tovo. “I’m excited to take that experience into Texas and fight for even stronger finishes. Nitro Motorsports and the technical alliance with the Copeland Motorsports program have given us great support, and I’m ready to get back on track and deliver.”
Taking advantage of the expanding Nitro Motorsports program, specifically in their alliance with the two-time defending Copeland Motorsports effort, Jackson and Ethan Tovo are looking to make steady and consistent improvement throughout 2025.
The Tovos continued, “The technical alliance between Nitro Motorsports and Copeland Motorsports brings valuable experience, data, and knowledge to a great program. Expanding our development now will make us better drivers in the future. Looking forward to being on track in Texas.”
The race weekend at COTA will kick off with two practice sessions on Friday, followed by qualifying and race one on Saturday. The event will wrap up on Sunday with a final qualifying session and race two.
