What an amazing weekend! The weather was perfect and the paddock was packed with races and spectators alike. Full Track Friday is always a great way to kick off the festivities and it was capped off with our Chase Races. Sportsman class saw Mike Gallagher and his Shelby Mustang rocketship take home the 1st place trophy. In Chase Pro, it was Mark Stadalsky gaining valuable championship points with the overall victory.

Saturday was a perfect day at Autobahn. Members and guests came out in droves to witness the magic of race day. Following the pre-race ceremony, it was the Radicals’ time to shine. With 14 cars taking the green flag, it was Evan Cooley, who held off the pressure of Jordan Missig and Michai Stevens to win the race.

GT Challenge had a spectacular turnout with the first few rows consisting of a variety of Ferrari’s, Porsche Cup Car and BMW’s. Aaron Ziegler displayed his Ferrari 296 Challenge car in GTU and had an easy time running the 3.56 mile track with over 700hp, while winning his class. Tadas Karlinskas in his 992.2 Cup Car won overall and also set a new full track record of 2:19.915! GT2 saw Britt Casey Sr, come out for his first race of the season and managed to hold off David Calzada to claim the top prize in his class. GT3 has seen the constant battle between Bob Noorian and Tom Prokop. This time, Noorian was able to keep Prokop in his rearview mirror to bring home the trophy. Val Gaurylius’ GT4 had a commanding lead over his fellow competitors as he sailed to victory along with GT5’s Mike Keck also standing on the podium after the racing was done.

To cap the racing weekend off, we hosted a one hour long Spec Miata race. As the temperature started to rise, so did the competition. But when the checkered flag dropped it was Jeff Neumann winning SM2 and Ethan Tyler in SM. Following the podium ceremony, all the drivers were sent to the podium for a group photo when an onslaught of water balloons were launched at them resulting in an all out water balloon fight.

It was an amazing Festival weekend and one for the memory book. Thank you to everyone who came out and we’ll see you for the next race on July 25th!
