California Here We Come! Check out this week’s podcast

A few months ago, I overheard Autobahn Country Club member Jim Morris talking about a 1957 Thunderbird he was working on. I asked to come see it. Well, it turns out the story about the car and what Jim was going to do with it is pretty interesting. We sat down on a hot July afternoon to talk about cars, food, and of course the California Mille. Born from the Italian Milee, a race that ran from 1927 to 1957.  So, buckle up for chasing the perfect car, running a great race and having fun. This is a story every car lover should hear and we are lucky to have Jim Morris on the show!

Thanks for tuning it this week!

Karting Korner

A big thank you goes out to all the Teams, Volunteers and Kart Track workers for a successful 9th Annual Drive for 105 event that supports DuPage Pads this past Sunday. The event was a huge success and according to Joel Weinberger the totals for donations were in excess of $141,000 at the end of the day. That is amazing!

As a reminder the Kart Circuit is offering two instructional programs for members.  Those programs are Intro to Karting, which is a more basic program and Performance Driving, which is intermediate and advanced in focus. Please contact Alan Bertagnoli at the Kart Circuit for details, pricing and availability. (815) 317-3124 or [email protected]

The kart circuit will be open Wednesday through Sunday 9-5 and Thursday Late Night 11-7 except for the following where we have private events:

  • July 17 from 3:30 -4:30

We also have several very lightly used Margay Ignite Karts for sale. These Karts were only raced once or twice and are extremely clean. Contact Kyle Nadeau at [email protected] to get your turn-key Margay Ignite today.

Reminder: NO shorts when on track

Now that the weather has been warmer please remember that long pants must be worn when on track. Please be sure you and your guests are prepared by not attempting to wear shorts when lapping. This puts our staff in the uncomfortable position of denying you or your guest access to the track.

This does not include touring laps.

The long pants requirement is a safety measure that is standard throughout the industry. Your cooperation is appreciated.
